A strange rant

(From one of our tenants – I guess it’s true that it really does take all kinds!)

How dare you think it is okay to raise the rents of your lake lease-holders.  You know most of us would think it would be okay if we could see any improvements being done.  But you just think about the money, never about caring for the tenant.  Look at the lease, it protects you against everything.  It does not protect the tenant at all.  Do you realize the liabilities on this property?  But you want more rent.

The entire river and sand along with it after the flood.  Who did you help with clean up?  No one.  Poor old couples having to either do it themselves or hire people to help reset their trailers, clear their land of the mounds of sand, clean up the garbage and dead rodents.  The lakes were contaminated.  You provided false testing.  The lake is still a sick green color and smells like sewage.  Our children have rashes from swimming in the lakes.  No doubt the wells are contaminated, did you bother to test each one?  The bank of the river is eroding, yet nothing is being done about it.  Soon those along the river will lose their buildings.  But you want more rent.

New leases that told us we now would have to own a 4×4 vehicle because the roads are in such bad shape.  Why are they in bad shape?  Because you have just let them go.  Nothing is ever done to even try to make the roads better, holes are never filled, mud bogs that you get stuck in.  But you want more rent.

The overgrowth is ridiculous.  Our vehicles are getting scratched up.  The road is so narrow in spots that you can’t see oncoming traffic until it is too late.  The beavers are chewing up old, mature trees; those risk falling on people, killing people.  But you want more rent.

Your psycho, drugged up brother with his petting zoo.  Animals on and in the road. Threats against us if we happen to hit one of his zoo animals that are wandering in the road.  Goats being fenced and forced to eat the trees so it is stripped and bare.  Zoo animals humping each other while we drive by.  Yep, my kids need to see that.  His shooting goats in broad daylight.  But you want more rent.

You should be ashamed of yourself for asking for more rent.  Your business is just that, your business.  If you want to make improvements, then we understand paying a higher rent.  This place is one of the worst around the area.  Everyone is scared of your brother and his sneaking around armed with a gun.  We are so scared of the blow back, we are sending this to you anonymously.  We all know what is going on, we all talk.  You can’t just take money and not put something back into the land, it is irresponsible and unfair to everyone.  But you want more rent.
